Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for an Operations Coordinator to join our team!

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Manager, Procedures & Controls, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating various multidisciplinary projects/programs, assignments, and new initiatives, and ensuring consistency with departmental goals and objectives. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of Departmental or Group processes and procedures, continuous improvement programs, and emergency preparedness/continuity of operations plans.  You will have frequent involvement with various internal groups as well as public and political stakeholders.  You will utilize exceptional project management skills and well-developed organizational abilities in order to ensure the Group’s goals and TTC expectations are realized.

As the Operations Coordinator, you will develop and implement a robust project prioritization process to ensure alignment with strategic goals. You will continuously evaluate and adjust project priorities based on evolving business needs and objectives. You will analyze resource utilization and capacity, making recommendations for adjustments as needed. You will work closely with senior management to forecast recommendations for adjustments as needed. You will facilitate communication and coordination between teams to promote a cohesive approach to project management. You will lead and partner with management and external resources to identify any financial impact and resolve problems affecting organizational performance.   You will also provide independent analysis, input, guidance and recommendations to the project execution team in support of decision-making and remedial action.

In this role, you will coordinate the development and implementation of a cohesive and comprehensive structure for the various apprenticeship programs within the department. Responsibilities include assessing current training methodologies, identifying gaps, implementing enhancements, and regularly updating apprenticeship programs to maintain their relevance and effectiveness.

You will be responsible for liaising with the Safety & Environment department and promoting safety consciousness and safe operating procedures.  You will coordinate emergency preparedness exercises and simulations and lead incident reviews and debriefings with staff on serious incidents.  You will track safety and operational action items.

In addition, you will prepare and submit reports or written analyses, monthly audit dashboards, and communicate audit results.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Your educational background will consist of the completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (i.e., Business Administration Engineering,) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Completion of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and completion of a recognized accounting designation, will be considered an asset.
  • Possession of a valid, non-probationary, Province of Ontario class “G” driver’s license to commute to TTC sites and meetings not accessible by transit will be required in this role.
  • You will have extensive knowledge of business administration and HR concepts and practices combined with knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and rules.
  • Your knowledge of transit operations, and experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects will be evident in your application.
  • Your strong knowledge of research methods and techniques combined with an aptitude for developing project plans, proposals and action plans will be beneficial as an Operations Coordinator.
  • You will also have knowledge of emergency preparedness and continuity of operations planning.
  • Your application will demonstrate experience leading projects independently and communicating project plans and results to stakeholders.  You will have the ability to make evidence-based business decisions in a timely manner.
  • Your experience coordinating complex, multi-faceted issues/tasks in a challenging environment will be invaluable in this position.
  • You will have sound judgement, strong leadership, management and decision-making skills.  Additionally, you will have well-developed technical, administrative, investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Your superior verbal & written communication skills, and strong interpersonal, presentation and report-writing skills will also be beneficial to you in this role.
